A Self-Love Challenge for Women of Faith

Self-love doesn’t come easy for a lot of women.

It makes sense. We’re constantly bombarded with messages saying we’re not good enough.

That’s why, this week, instead of giving in to that noise, we challenge you to turn your attention inward.

True peace and joy start with loving yourself unapologetically, despite the naysayers.

The 3 rules in this self-love challenge are designed to nurture your I-feel-great-about-myself feelings. Try them out for a week and let us know how it goes!

Embrace rest.

We all know sleep is important for our physical and emotional health, but how often are we really getting that recommended 8 hours? Commit to it for the next 7 days.

For bonus points, as soon as you wake up, jot down everything you remember from your dreams. Take note of the symbols you saw and the characters you interacted with, then analyze them.

God still speaks to people through dreams. What could He be trying to tell you?

Shut down negative self-talk.

Any time a negative thought pops up this week, reframe it.

“I don’t know how to do that” becomes “I’m willing to learn.”

“I’ve gained too much weight” becomes “Weight fluctuations are normal, and my workouts will pay off over time.”

Come back to the Word.

Way back when you were a kid in Sunday School, do you remember singing, “Jesus loves me, this I know,” over and over and ovvvveeeerrrr again? There’s a reason we repeated that tune so much.

The Bible teaches us that He loves you, even when you don’t necessarily love yourself. Spend some time with the Word to remind yourself of His promises to you.

When the Zumba or Pilates classes and bubble baths aren’t doing their job, God’s love is a never-ending supply you can always pull from.

Will you be giving this self-love challenge a try?
